Embroidery

This has quickly become one of my favorite hobbies. I got started with a kit from Cozy Blue Handmade, and also love patterns from Hook, Line, & Tinker, Melissa from MCreativeJ, and PopLush Embroidery.

More recently, I’ve dabbled in creating my own patterns, stitching on clothes, and making magnets. The photos above show you much of my work so far, a combination of patterns and projects I’ve created myself. The video below is a basic introduction to four embroidery stitches, first created for the spring 2020 Penn State Libraries’ Virtual Destress Fest.

Zines!

A fun craft to do with others

What are zines?

Zines are self-made publications meant to be shared. I’ve gotten into making short, eight-page zines, made by using a series of prompts on a topic. Below are a few I’ve made during the 2020 Pandemic and at the bottom of this page is a video about how to fold your own eight-page zine!
